Pompeo paints original mandalas (circles) free-hand with acrylic
on canvas and wood panels. She has been drawing and painting mandalas
for over 15 years.
Joy was born into a large family in Pennsylvania and raised in
South Florida by Maggie
Pompeo, who is also an artist. She spent eight years in the
San Francisco Bay Area where she learned to make jewelry and continued
to practice painting mandalas. After the Bay Area, Joy moved to
New Orleans, Louisiana where she learned to make prints and note
cards of her artwork. She was the featured Artist of the Month in
the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) in May of 2012. You can find
some of her work in the NOMA gift shop. She is also a featured artist
at GoGo Jewelry on Magazine Street in Uptown New Orleans.
Joy now lives in Asheville, North Carolina. She has begun experimenting
with painting watercolor portraits. They will be available for purchase
soon in her online shop. Click on the link above to view her shop.
